Do you know who St. Phoebe is? As a Deacon in the early church, Saint Phoebe, sent by the Apostle Paul, ministered in the church of Cenchreae, a busy port near Corinth, which was a common stop for travelers. Weary travelers were able to hear the message of hope and love from St. Phoebe, and she also used her social connections and wealth to help those who needed it most in terms of support and basic human needs. Looking for a fun and meaningful summer project with your kids? Help support our neighbors in need by making sandwiches or hard-boiled eggs for St. Francis House! Here’s how to help: Please wash hands before preparing food. Use inexpensive bread and fillings like lunch meat, cheese, tuna, peanut butter & jelly. No need to add mayo or mustard. Wrap each sandwich in a baggie, then place back in the original bread bag. We’re also grateful for donations of hard-boiled eggs, Cutie oranges, bananas, small apples, and cheese sticks. Every weekday, St. Francis House serves over 150 people, and your generosity makes a real impact! NEW Drop-off Times: St. Bridget: Mondays, 1–2 PM Our Lady of the Lake (OLL): Thursdays, 9 AM Donors from Assumption and St. Catherine parishes, please bring your donations to either St. Bridget or OLL. Questions? Contact Mary Jo Gasparich at [email protected] or Maria DeSouza at [email protected]. Thank you for sharing your hearts—and sandwiches—this summer!

Introducing the “Cenacle” Lenten series. The word “Cenacle” refers to the “Upper Room” where Jesus gave his disciples the Eucharist, washed their feet, and taught them of the Father’s love and the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is also the place where Jesus regathered the disciples following his resurrection to “breathe” on them the Holy Spirit and send them out as missionaries. Robert and Lori Fontana (Assumption Parish) are associates in the modern-day Missionary Cenacle movement. During Lent, they will be hosting a weekly small group Scripture study and faith-sharing series called Holy Week with Jesus and His Disciples in the Cenacle. It will be held at Assumption Parish Hall. This Lenten series begins on Wednesday, March 12 (7-8:30 pm) for in-person or Zoom sessions. Each session will be repeated on Thursday mornings on Zoom only, beginning March 13, 9-10:30 am. To register, or if you have any questions, write Robert and/or Lori at [email protected]
