In mid-June, twenty-five NESCC parishioners met at St. Catherine’s Victoria Hall to develop a common mission statement for our parish family’s Social Justice Ministry. Led by four coordinators, one from each parish, the group also celebrated the many ways during the 24-25 years where there has been advocacy, service, and education related to our Catholic Social Principles. A great potluck, featuring Southern food in honor of Juneteenth, added to the evening's enjoyment. This is the mission statement on which the NESCC Social Justice Ministry came to consensus:
Our mission is to work together to educate parishioners in Catholic Social Principles and the teachings of Jesus. We invite them to participate in activities that make a positive impact on the lives of people and the environment.
