San Sebastian de Yali Parish May´s Food Packages Distribution

Distribution continued during May, getting to families in need. Most of the packages
are prepared and delivered by volunteers at the parish. Many of the recipients have
difficulties accessing healthy nutrition. With every food distribution, we try to include
items of basic need, such as sugar and rice, but also include milk, which is essential
for many elderly people who need multivitamins to keep their immune system well.
By helping them with the food packages, they can focus on other needs.
Sometimes what is in the contents of the bag is not all they need, but for them it is
a big support as they struggle to buy medicine or attend a doctor´s office.
This is possible thanks to the contribution of many parishioners of Our Lady of the
Lake, who has kept this project for a long time. Every month, we try to help 40
people among children and senior citizens. The need is even greater, but we try to
focus on those who need the most. Most of the time, the volunteers have to make a
double effort and deliver the packages in very distant areas of San Sebastian de
Yali. Behind this project, there is a lot of goodwill as we remember we have to live
the Gospel in our daily lives and serve those who need.

convey in just a picture how thankful they are to all of you. Every effort counts for
