Recently, 40 food packages have been distributed among those most in need in San Sebastian de Yali. The people who receive this help are thankful to the contributions and good hearts of parishioners from Our Lady of the Lake Parish. The food packages go to people in need, including elderly people and children with health conditions.
Most of the recipients of the packages live in Yali, and others live in the rural areas of the community. Volunteers in the parish help get help to where it is needed. The food packages typically contain:
The packages are intended to help in some way with the needs many of them have to access good nutrition and contribute in some way to their well-being.
Many families in Yali struggle to access food due to economic conditions and a lack of job opportunities. We continue to pray for the many who make this contribution possible. Thanks to you and the support given to San Sebastian de Yali throughout the years.
I would like to recognize this time the dedication and support of Doug Ward, a parishioner from Our Lady of the Lake. He has been involved in this project since we started in 2010, when a group of parishioners went to Yali to visit and see firsthand the situation of many of them. We continue with this project thanks to him and many others who have participated over the years.
